In 2014, Gerry Lopez extended an invitation: “We’re building wave-like snow features here at my home mountain, Mt. Bachelor―why don't you and your crew come join us?” More than a decade has passed since that first visit, and our journey to Bachelor has become an annual tradition.

“Just as Japan has Niseko and Hakuba, America has its own counterparts. If Jackson Hole is like the rugged peaks of Hakuba, Mt. Bachelor is akin to Niseko. Just as the land shapes the people, Bachelor and Niseko share a brotherly spirit. We head to this mountain with the same warmth as visiting long-lost family” reflects Taro Tamai.
